Answer
Based on official Jordanian legal texts
According to Article 173 (المادة 173) of the Personal Status Law, the custody of a child by the mother continues until the child reaches fifteen years of age. For individuals other than the mother, custody continues until the child reaches eleven years of age. After reaching these ages, the child is given the choice to remain with the mother until reaching the age of majority. Additionally, if the child is suffering from an illness that requires the care of women, the custody by women may be extended unless the child's best interest dictates otherwise.
