Answer
Based on official Jordanian legal texts
The documents and requirements for marriage in Jordan differ according to the parties' circumstances. The SJD marriage request service lists several core requirements that should be checked before applying. These include an activated digital identity through the Sanad application, updated records with the Civil Status Department for Jordanians or the Residency and Borders Department for non-Jordanians, and the absence of legal impediments to marriage.
The service also lists special requirements for certain cases. If the marriage involves a person under eighteen, approval from the Chief Islamic Justice is required, and a pre-marriage course may be required where applicable. If one party is non-Jordanian, security approval or embassy approval may be required for certain nationalities. The attendance of the bride's legal guardian, or a representative under a valid power of attorney or transfer of guardianship, may also be required.
In addition, the marriage must satisfy the substantive conditions of the Personal Status Law, including offer and acceptance under Articles 6 and 7, witnesses under Article 8, marriage capacity under Article 10, and official documentation under Article 36.
Therefore, the required documents are not identical in every case. An ordinary Jordanian marriage is usually simpler than a marriage involving non-Jordanians, repeated marriage, marriage under eighteen, or any case requiring special permission.
This is a general explanation based on the approved Jordanian legal sources and does not replace advice from a qualified lawyer in a specific dispute.
