Answer
Based on official Jordanian legal texts
In Jordan, arbitrary divorce is addressed under the Personal Status Law. According to Article 155 (المادة 155) of the Personal Status Law, if a husband divorces his wife arbitrarily, meaning without a reasonable cause, and the wife requests compensation from the court, the judge may award her compensation. This compensation should not be less than the equivalent of one year's maintenance and not more than three years' maintenance. The judge will consider the financial status of the husband when determining the amount, whether he is wealthy or not. This compensation does not affect the wife's other rights.
