Answer
Based on official Jordanian legal texts
Proof of maintenance payment in an enforcement file is made by submitting evidence that the debt was paid, settled, waived, or otherwise discharged. The purpose is to prevent continued enforcement for an amount that has already been paid and to update the enforcement balance according to what the creditor actually received.
In practice, proof may include official receipts, bank transfers, signed payment acknowledgments, settlement documents, a waiver by the creditor, or an agreement between the parties, depending on what the enforcement judge accepts and the evidence presented. Official SJD service information for closing an enforcement case refers to closure where the debt has been paid, accumulated maintenance has been paid, there is a divorce, there is a waiver in the divorce document, or the parties have agreed to close the case.
If payment was made in cash without a receipt or clear transfer, the issue becomes evidentiary, and the debtor may need convincing proof. For that reason, maintenance should preferably be paid through traceable methods, such as bank transfer, official deposit, or a signed and dated receipt that identifies the month or period covered by the payment.
If the parties disagree on the amount paid or the period covered, the issue is presented to the enforcement judge to calculate the balance and decide the effect of the payment on the enforcement file.
This is a general explanation based on the approved Jordanian legal sources and does not replace advice from a qualified lawyer in a specific dispute.
